Terms of Service
Last updated: 19 June 2026
These terms govern your use of Dafn Registry. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you are accepting on behalf of a cemetery, you confirm you are authorised to do so.
The service
Dafn Registry provides a public memorial portal and an operations platform (booking, records, payments, documents) for UK Muslim cemeteries. The public memorial portal is free; operations are billed on a monthly subscription as set out on our Pricing page.
Accounts & responsibilities
Cemeteries are responsible for the accuracy of the records they enter, for the staff they invite, and for keeping login credentials secure. You must hold the necessary lawful basis to upload the personal data of next of kin and to publish memorial content.
Payments
Subscription fees are charged via Stripe. Family payments — burial booking fees, grave-maintenance contributions, and flower orders — are taken on behalf of the cemetery, which is responsible for fulfilment and for any refunds. Sadaqah Jariyah and maintenance contributions are zero-take-rate: the full amount goes to the charity or cemetery, less unavoidable card-processing costs. Refund and cancellation terms for a specific booking are set by the cemetery.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the service: no unlawful, abusive, or fraudulent activity; no attempts to access other tenants’ data; no automated scraping of memorial or directory content. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms.
Content & ownership
A cemetery’s records remain its own; you can export them at any time. Tributes and memorial contributions submitted by visitors are moderated by the family or cemetery before they appear. You grant us the limited licence needed to host and display content as part of providing the service.
Guidance is not advice
Our Janazah guide and any procedural content are provided for general information. They are not religious rulings or legal advice — please consult your own scholars and the relevant Registrar or Coroner for your circumstances.
Availability & liability
We work to keep the service reliable but provide it “as is” without warranties. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the preceding twelve months. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Termination
You may close your account at any time; we will provide a full data export on request. We may suspend or terminate access for serious or repeated breach of these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
